She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Reinert and Adella Reinert (Fry); her husband Richard E. Smith; and her brother Robert Reinert. She is survived by: her daughters, Debra Hall (Gary) of Walford and Kimberly Ebsen (Richard) of Middle Amana; her granddaughter Jennifer Ebsen; her great grandchildren, Arianna and Kailee Ebsen; and her stepgrandson Jason Hall.

In lieu of flowers a Memorial Fund has been established for Essence of Life Hospice.
