He was predeceased by: his parents, Hector Butler and Helen Butler (Cooper); his brother Elston LeRoy Barton; his sister-in-law RaNee Barton; and his nephew Wade Barton.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Ford; his sons, Doyle Butler (Janell) of Cedar Rapids and Todd Butler (Kristi) of LaPorte City; his nieces and nephews, Chet Barton (Lisa) of Scottsdale and Sherri Barton (Kathy Dozler) of Des Moines; his grandchildren, Dallas Butler, Cade Butler, Torie Ryan and Tia Butler; his sister Carolyn Hoversten (Lyle) of Webster City; his nephews, Kim Hoversten (Rebecca) of Waukee and Kory Hoversten (Nicole) of Alexander; and his niece Jennifer Hoversten (Chris Olson) of Illinois.
