Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved Shirley Hanson in Webster City, Iowa, born in Saint Charles, Iowa, who passed away at the age of 88, on June 30, 2020. She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Johnson and Edna Johnson (McCuddin); her husband Cliff Hanson; her sister Lois Murphy; her parents-in-law, Hans and Hazel Hanson; her sister Edith; her brother-in-law Jeff Rasmusson; her brother Clint; and her sisters-in-law, Jeanette Hanson and Virginia Hanson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Karen Hanson, West and Carol Mitts (Jeff); her granddaughter Jennifer Mitts (Aaron Jordan); her sister Carolyn Gustafson (Dick); and her brother-in-law Fred Murphy. She is also survived by cousins, nieces and nephews.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and desire to keep those precious to Shirley safe, a graveside service will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 11:00 a. m. at the Gilbert Cemetery near Gilbert, Iowa.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Iowa State University Foundation General Scholarship Endowment Fund, in memory of Shirley, or Asbury United Methodist Church.
