He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Oberender and Anna Oberender (Wing); his wife Rosella Carol Meyeraan; his sons, Jerry Oberender and Kevin Oberender; his daughter-in-law Gloria Oberender; and his siblings, Carl, Orville, Wendell Oberender and Mary Rahto.
He is survived by: his children, Janet Tribolet (Rich) of Story City, Joyce Peters (Keith) of Hampton, Jim Oberender of Story City, Steve Oberender of Iowa Falls and Neil Oberender of Durand, WI; and his daughter-in-law Kim Oberender-Doolittle of Webster City. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews.
