She was predeceased by: her parents, Rufus Allen and Naomi Smith Allen; her husband Clayton Nieman; and her siblings, Aubrey Allen of Bakersfield, CA and Anita Lehmann of Anaheim, CA.

She is survived by: her children, Jane Geving (James) of Madison, WI, James Nieman (Sheryl) of Parker, SD, John Mark Nieman (Barb) of LeMars, IA, Joseph Nieman (Sharon) of LeMars, IA, Jennifer Maharry (Greg) of Webster City, IA and Joni Culver (Brent) of Cedar Rapids, IA. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
