He was predeceased by: his parents, Dick Schnittjer and Anna Schnittjer (Groothoff); and his siblings, Ruth, Loraine, Richard, Edward and Herbert.

He is survived by: his wife Barb; his children, Terry Schnittjer (Angela) of Fort Dodge, Kathi Hovland (Heath) of Thor, IA, Rodney Schnittjer (Beth) of Jewell, IA and Shane Schnittjer (Jamie) of Webster City; and his siblings, Esther Keller, Eunice VanGerpen (Merle) and Herb.
