He was predeceased by: his parents, Delbert Koester and Virginia Koester (Fox); his children, Jarid Koester and Bridget Koester; and his brother Bruce Koester.
He is survived by: his former wife Susan Ewing; his children, Alyssa Koester (Zack) of Pilot Mound, Whitney Miller of Pilot Mound and Dylan Koester (Caitlin); his grandchildren, Shaylynn, Jordyn, Mckynley, Creed and Addison; his sister Kari Leiser (Dave) of Fort Dodge; and his pet Daphne Louise.
