She was predeceased by: her father Kenneth Donald; her husband Jerry Short; her sons, Harley and Jerry D. Short; and her brother Keith Hemsted.
She is survived by: her mother LaVada Louise Hemsted (Sweet); her children, Alexis Hemsted of Thermopolis, WY, Joseph Short (Lori) and Justin Short of Coralville; her grandchildren, Jade, Gracelyn and Justus; her brother Kyle Hemsted (Noelle); and her aunt Aggie Rochwick. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established for the American Foundation of Suicide Prevention.
