He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Hilbert and Margueritte Hilbert (Haight); and his siblings, Rick, Don Hilbert and Karen Orvis (Charlie).

He is survived by: his wife Jean Lentz of Waverly; his children, Annette Rodger (John) of Melbourne, Matthew Hilbert of Evansdale and Angela Hilbert of Waverly; his grandchildren, Marina, Mitchel, Tucker, Alex, Natalie and Liam; and his sisters-in-law, Marcia Hilbert of Manchester and Teresa Hilbert of Des Moines.

Memorials may be directed to Retrieving Freedom.
