With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Rocky James Shipp of Waverly, Iowa, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 11, 2024 at the age of 71. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid farewell to this cherished soul, solace is taken in the memories held dear — the laughter shared, the wisdom imparted, the moments of quiet reflection in their presence. Though Rocky James may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the echoes of his kindness, the warmth of his embrace, and the light of his enduring love.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Shipp and Marlyn Shipp (Howard); and his brother David Shipp. He is survived by: his wife Darlene Shipp of Waverly; and his sons, Mitchell Shipp (Heather Johlas) of Iowa Falls, Elliott Shipp (Ashley) of Waverly and Scott Shipp (Amanda) of Dixon, Illinois. He is also survived by six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 15th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Kaiser-Corson Funeral Home (218 2nd St SE, Waverly, IA 50677). A memorial service was held on Wednesday, October 16th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church (211 3rd St SW, Waverly, IA 50677).
