He is survived by: his stepfather Samuel "Tommy" Thomas; his wife Rebecca Sands of Waverly; his son Christopher Shafer of Waverly; his grandchildren, Paige Graffunder (Dan) and Britney Stevens (PJ Otto); and his great grandchildren, Skylar, Trey and Camdyn.
