He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Sr. Bruns and Dorothy Bruns (Waggett); and his son Doug Bruns. He is survived by: his wife Irva Bruns of Waverly; his sons, Jon Bruns (Deanne) of Waverly and Kent Bruns (Sue) of Dunkerton, Iowa; his daughter-in-law Darcy Bruns of Waverly; his grandchildren, Kim Gibson (Dave), Nicole Curtin (Harry II), Emily Bruns, Levi Bruns, Christopher Bruns and Samantha Mujakic (Adnan); and his great grandchildren, Aubrey, Kenzie, Harry III, Lyla, Adijan, Arijan and Adrijan.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church (301 1st St NW, Waverly, IA 50677). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, April 1st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
