Phyllis Jean Maltas Obituary

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Phyllis Jean Maltas (Waverly, Iowa), born in Clinton, Iowa, who passed away on April 21, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Fern Hoffman (Galitz) and Walter Hoffman; her husband Ralph Kenneth Maltas; her daughter-in-law Courtney Maltas; her grandson Michael Maltas; and her brother Phillip Hoffman.

She is survived by: her children, Barbara Jean Wood (Les) of Lincoln, James Allen Maltas (Lori) of Waverly, Kenneth Lee Maltas of Prospect Heights, Joseph Ray Maltas (Julie) of Chatham and Susan Marie Harden (Rob) of Toledo, Ohio; and her brother Charles Hoffman of Muscatine, Iowa.. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be having a public service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a food bank of donor's choice.
