He was predeceased by: his wife Esther; and his stepson Donnie Shapley. He is survived by: his daughters, Elizabeth and Dawn Spencer (Jonathan) of Plainfield, IA; his sister Marilee Roeder Dahlby of Nashua, IA; his stepdaughter Marie Shapley of Waterloo, IA; his granddaughters, Peggy Lindgren (Cliff) of Westminster, MD and Laura Havlik (Jason) of Clarksville, IA; his daughter-in-law Juanita Shapley of Clarksville, IA; and his grandsons, Tyler Spencer of Fredericksbug, IA and Dylan Spencer (Lisa) of Waverly, IA. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren; three nephews.
