It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Lou Smith of Waverly, Iowa, who passed away on September 20, 2021, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Edward and Annie Louise Dorman (Barth); her husband Orville James Smith; her sons, Alan L. and Kevin D. Smith; and her siblings, Harold, Percy Dorman, Marcella Carlson and Marie Murray.
She is survived by: her sons, Bruce J. Smith (Becky L.) of Cedar Falls, Gary R. Smith (Alena M.) of Shell Rock and Perry K. Smith (Cindy K.) of Houston, Minnesota; her daughter-in-law Jill S. Mellick of Polk City, Iowa; her sister Vesta M. Warrick of Oklahoma; and also Lavonne Dorman of Cedar Falls, Iowa.. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; two great great-grandchildren.
