With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marvin J. Fangman of Waverly, Iowa, born in Dyersville, Iowa, who passed away on January 3, 2022 at the age of 85. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Fangman and Agnes Friedman Fangman; his son Randy Fangman; and his siblings, Roy, Joseph, Robert Fangman, Katy Fangman and Lois Baldwin.

He is survived by: his wife Carol Rogers of Waverly; his children, Roxanne Crawford (Robert) of Reinbeck, Cheryl Sheridan (Charles) of Aurora, Ill, Kevin Fangman (Phyllis) and Darrin Fangman of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa; and his sister Mary Lou Shonka (Jim) of Independence, Iowa.. He is also survived by six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren.

“We met Marvin in July when we first moved to the neighborhood. We had many visits about dogs as we got to know Marvin and Pebbles, and as he got to know us and our Chance. Eventually we moved beyond dog talk, and we learned about what an interesting and talented man he was. He proudly showed off his amazing workshop, and just smiled when prodded about why he hadn’t patented some of his inventions. We enjoyed sharing our homemade treats with him. We are really going to miss him.”
