She was predeceased by: her parents, Fred Strempke and Emma Strempke (Tiedt); her husband George Rupert Kohagen; her brother Don Strempke (Alma); and her brother-in-law Loren Geistfeld.

She is survived by: her children, Sharon Traetow (Mark) of Denver and Steve Kohagen (Penny) of Waverly; her grandchildren, Ashley Kohagen, Nathan Traetow, Matthew Traetow (Jen) and Michael Traetow (Jenny); her great grandchildren, Whitney, Luke, Jordan Traetow, Brayden, Carter and Emry Traetow; and her sisters, Jean Poock, Grace Branson and Mary Ann Fauser (Dave).
