He was predeceased by: his parents, Jeramiah Willis and Lillian Willis (Harms); his wife Shirley M. Wiepert; his daughter Donna; his granddaughter Brittney Sanchez; and his siblings, Vernon, Russel, Mervyn Willis and Rose Townsend.
He is survived by: his children, Ronald Willis of Cedar Falls, Diana Sanchez (John) of Cedar Falls, Darlene Willis-Gruver (Brad) of Hampton and Debra Willis of Waverly. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two brothers-in-law.
