With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy Martha McDonald of Waverly, Iowa, born in Denver, Iowa, who passed away on August 29, 2023 at the age of 94. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Schmidt and Edna Schmidt (Lamprecht); her husband Ray McDonald; her stepfather Charles Koepke; her parents-in-law, Amos and Rose McDonald; her sisters, Gladys Southworth, Ruth Stumpf and Roberta Rockwood; her stepsiblings, William Koepke, Casper Koepke (Cap) and Leona Bowles; and her nephews, Terry Stumpf and Craig Koepke.

She is survived by: her daughter Becky Uhlenhopp (Darwin) of Waverly; her grandchildren, Brenton Uhlenhopp (Leann) of Urbandale and Stephanie Higgins (Justin) of Iowa City; and her great grandchildren, Oliver, Ava Uhlenhopp and Spencer Higgins. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Redeemer Lutheran Church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
