He is survived by: his wife Marylou Lumm of Waverly; his friend Bob Dight; his children, Jim Birkholz (Wendy) of Plainfield, Jody Smith (Michael) of Waverly, Jay Birkholz (Tami) of Ellsworth and Jon Birkholz of Eugene, Oregon; and his sister Pat Will (Marnie) of Mankato, Minnisota. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
