He was predeceased by: his siblings, Leola Janssen, Norma Jean Janssen, Mildred Van Hove, Anna Yorke and Harley.

He is survived by: his wife Kathleen DeNeui; his children, Marcia Weuve (Gary) of San Marcos, TX, Laura Busse (Kurt) of Bloomington, IL and Daniel Janssen (Hanna) of Mequon, WI.; his grandchildren, Jordan Busse (Whitney), Jessica Busse, Gabrielle Janssen and Julia Janssen; his great grandchildren, MaryCarol Kathleen Busse and Adelyn Ruth Busse; his brother Dale Janssen (Lynda); and his brothers-in-law, Henry Stubbe, Roy Yorke, Ben Van Hove and Ronald. He is also survived by three step-grandchildren and three step-great grandchildren, along with many cherished nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be directed to either St. John Lutheran Church or Cedar Valley Hospice.

“Dear Kathleen. I haven’t heard from Curly in a long while so I just stumbled over his obit. I didn’t know he left us on July 24. Condolences and prayers to you. He was my roommate in College and we chased many a college function and party together. He had graduated and married before I got back to finish my last quarter at ISU from the Marine Corps. Loved that guy and I’m sorry he’s gone. He was a life long good friend and one of the best persons I’ve ever known. Blessings, Jim (JD) De Young”
