He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Benjamin and Alvina Bertha Brandt (Bechtel); his brother Marcus Brandt; and his sister-in-law Patricia Green (Donald). He is survived by: his wife Nancy of Waukon; his children, James Brandt (Maggie) of Mesa, AZ and Susan Hand (Jeff) of Hiawatha, IA; his grandchildren, Alec Brandt (Megan), Amanda Brandt, Matthew Hand and Nicholas Hand; and his sister-in-law Yvonne Brandt of Waukon. He is also survived by five nieces and two nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. John's Lutheran Church (8 5th St SW, Waukon, IA 52172). A memorial service was held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church or Veterans Memorial Hospital.
