He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Mary, Lawrence Benda, Shirley and Neal Palmer; and his cousins, Tanya Schnuelle, Ted Benda, Josh Palmer and Kadin Harmening.
He is survived by: his parents, Paul Benda of Waukon and Kathy Benda (Palmer); his wife Janel; his daughter Nalia of Waukon; his brother Matt Benda (Michelle) of Decorah, IA; his nieces and nephews, Marissa, Micah of Decorah, Quinn and Will; his siblings-in-law, Jackie Clauson of Spring Grove, Jen Zafft (Lance) and Joseph Clauson of Spring Grove; and his parents-in-law, Anita Clauson of Spring Grove and Neil Clauson (Lori Lange) of Spring Grove. He is also survived by his family and many close friends.
In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials are preferred for his daughter Nalia.
