She was predeceased by: her parents, Fredrick Schlitter and Geneva Schlitter (Cahoon); her husband Gordie; her son Daniel Hansmeier; and her sisters, Darlene "Boots" Ewing (Stan) and Anna Mae Geno (LaVerne).
She is survived by: her sons, Dave Hansmeier (Cindy) of Decorah, IA and Daryl Hansmeier (Sandy) of Wilton, IA; her grandchildren, Lisa Hansmeier, Ken Hansmeier (Megan), Karla Schechman (Jeff), Scott Hansmeier (Rachelle) and Keryn Casel (Nick); her sister-in-law Jean Hansmeier of Cedar Falls, IA; and her close friend Curtis Schoenthal of Waukon. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
