He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schulte and Ella Schulte (Connor); his former wife Shirley Marie Duffy; his daughter-in-law Julie Schulte; his siblings, Margaret Wiltgen, Angela Regan, John, Cletus, Norbert and Greg Schulte; and his siblings-in-law, Anna Mae Borseth, Jenny Kelly, Jo Ann Troendle and Howard Duffy.
He is survived by: his wife Ruth Anne of Waukon; his children, David of Dorchester, Richard (Nimit) of Thailand, Randy (Julie) of Brooklyn Park, MN, Craig (Amy) of Eagan, MN and Laurie Carpenter (Jeff) of Appleton, WI; his stepchildren, John Clauson of Waukon, Mary Regan (Ron) of Des Moines, IA, Lori Crow (Jim) of Aberdeen, NC, Bill Clauson (Cheryl) of Dexter, IA and Jodi Patterson (Kirk) of Johnston, IA; his grandchildren, Ben, Matt, Michael, Connor, Alex, Krista, Jenna Schulte, Megan Carpenter, Nikki Meyer (Cody), Dane, Angela, Amber, Drew Regan, Emily, Jacob, Mason, Aiden Clauson, Abbey Chriswell (TJ), Kaylee Crow, Ellie, Ava, Daryl and Jared Patterson; his great grandchildren, Noah Meyer, Jayden, Ezra and Sawyer Chriswell; his sister Jeanette McCormick of Waukon; and his sister-in-law Jean Schulte of Cedar Rapids, IA. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In consideration of concerns regarding Covid-19, social distancing and wearing of masks will be observed during both the visitation and funeral mass.
