He was predeceased by: his parents, Leslie William and Irene Kerndt (Gruber); his siblings, Kenneth (Geraldine Kerndt), Willard (Arlene Kerndt) and Ruth; his parents-in-law, Henry and Alice Palas (Svebakken); and his brother-in-law Bernell Palas.
He is survived by: his wife AdaMarie Palas of Waukon; his children, Mark of Waukon, Brian of Waukon and Lisa of Dubuque, IA; and his in-laws, Ernest, LaVonne Palas (Nolting), Ernie and Donnalee Osland (Palas). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
