She was predeceased by: her parents, Gilman Hanson and Annetta Hanson (Bakkum); her sister Arlene Odegard; her brother-in-law Robert Peters; and her great grandchild Collin Harbaugh.
She is survived by: her former spouse Merle Schlake; her children, Gwen Foels (John) of Postville, IA and Randy Schlake (Barbara) of St. Charles, IL; her grandchildren, Koral Harbaugh (Brian), Laurie Smith (Jamie), Kathryn Schlake, Amy Thomas (David) and Alexander Schlake; her great grandchildren, Mason, Peyton Smith and Pierce Harbaugh; and her sisters, Harriet Hanson of Postville and Esther Peters of Cedar Falls, IA. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
