He was predeceased by: his parents, Anton Hunstad and Ethel Hunstad (Haugen); his grandson Nick Hunstad; his siblings, Earl Hunstad (Joyce), Darrell Hunstad (Marge) and Ivadelle Clausen (Evald); and his brother-in-law Robert "Skin" Rousseau.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Mullins; his children, Dennis Hunstad (Terri) of Waukon, Bruce Hunstad (Lori) of Jordan, MN, Gil Hunstad (Sherrie) of Waukon and Colleen Hagg (Brad) of Eden Prairie, MN; his grandchildren, Cody Hunstad (Erika), Hannah Pratt, Ashley Cerise (Joey), Amanda Smeins (Dustin), Josh Hunstad (Stephanie), Caleb Hunstad, Tara McMullen (Mike), Bianca (Jeff) and Sophia Hagg; his great grandchildren, Ryker, Tenley, Italia, Kambria, River, Addie, Brooke, Clayton, Ashton, James, Lily, Jake and Estelle; and his siblings, Ralph (Ada), Duane (Avis), Howard Hunstad and Joan Rousseau.
