He was predeceased by: his parents, Ervin Kupka and Lavonne Mae Kupka (Frey); and his sister Sandra Andrus. He is survived by: his wife Betty of Waukon; his daughters, Deb and Dawn; and his brothers, Darwin Kupka (Jackie) of Decorah, IA and Dean Kupka (Rhonda) of Cresco.
