It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Daniel Michael Ryan of Waukon, Iowa, born in La Crosse, Wisconsin, who passed away on December 12, 2020, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Joseph and Mary Alice Ryan (Mellick); and his close friend Esther Shumate. He is survived by: his brother Dale; his sister-in-law Kathy Ryan of Protivin, IA; his nephews, Thomas D. Ryan (Deirdre Egan-Ryan) of Green Bay, WI, Patrick E. Ryan of Decorah and Michael V. Ryan (Erin) of Decorah; his niece Beth Ryan of Minneapolis, MN; and also Marcella Johnson (Mellick). He is also survived by five great-nieces and nephews; and many cousins.
Dan enjoyed attending funerals, and we know he would have loved to have everyone gather for his own funeral, but due to Covid-19 the family has decided against an in-person gathering.
