He was predeceased by: his grandparents, Keith, Rose McGeough and Leo Garin; and his cousin Lindsey McMillan. He is survived by: his parents, Raymond Garin (Aggie) of Lansing and Maureen Garin (McGeough) of Waukon; his sisters, Jennifer Garin of Waukon and Jackie Bakker of Cedar Falls; his nephews, Brady and Brock Bakker; and his grandmother Mary Lou Garin. He is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials can be made to the family or Veterans Memorial Hospital.
