He is survived by: his wife Sandra Jean Ellefson Smerud; his nephews, Gary of Elkhart, TX and Randy McCoy of Elkhart, TX; his stepgrandchildren, Jeremy (Jenny), Josh and Kayla Waters (Marshall); his stepgreat-grandchildren, Brayden, Mason, James, Kaylee, Capri and Breck; and his brothers-in-law, Charles Ellefson of Lansing, IA and Raymond Ellefson (Pam) of Prairie.
