He was predeceased by: his parents, Cecile Case Withers and Alec Clifton Withers; and his sister Sue Perkins. He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth Inglis Hale (Libby); his children, Bill Nate (Linda) of Waukee, Jim (Jenifer) of Ames, Jane Wilhelm (Chris) of Valrico and John (Michelle) of Granger, Iowa.; his grandchildren, Nicole (Harvin), Andrew (Elle), Cole, Cate, Emma, Zach (Emma), Laura (Max), Alec, Kennady, Nate and Jaxon; his great grandchildren, Jordyn, Brock, Emilia and Jack; and his siblings, Richard Withers and Merry Lee Withers (Babe). He is also survived by his wife, his children, his grandchildren, and his great-grandchildren.
The Distinguished Service Award is presented by iCASE to individuals making significant contributions to programs and service for students with disabilities.
