He is survived by: his wife Nancy (Trissel); his son Bret Slagle (Carrie) of Cedar Rapids; his stepchildren, Scott Shelton of Waukee and Cindy Shelton of Waukee; his siblings, Betty Liebsack (Jim) of Minburn, John Biersma (Connie) of Earlham and Bill Biersma (Cindy) of Elko, MN; and his grandchildren, Madison, Jersey, Carly Slagle, Samantha Grandfield (Rory) and Nick Shelton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
