It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Philip Eugene Broderick of Waukee, Iowa, who passed away on June 22, 2023, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his wife Charlotte (Waddell); his sister Carola Broderick; and his son-in-law Jim Russel (Maura). He is survived by: his sister Marilyn Duwelius (Don); his children, Renae (Douglas Bordewieck) of Chapel Hill, NC, Maura of Poulsbo, WA, Tim (Teresa) of Waukee, IA, Mike (Rochelle) of Des Moines, IA, Brian (Cheryl) of Central Valley, NY, Kathy Quam (David) of Mahtomedi, MN, John of Urbandale, IA and Bridget (Paul D'Amato) of Chicago, IL; and his grandchildren, Christopher (Rachel), Ellen (Luis), Samuel, Anna, Jackson, Kate, Alex (Kimberly), Chase (Gabrielle), DJ (Brad), Elise (Pavel), Nick (Candice), Madeline (William), Connor, Quinn, Charlie and Tory (Lawrence). He is also survived by 6 nieces and nephews.

“Dear Broderick, Family, I am a current Edgewater resident. I had the privilege of knowing Phil fairly well. On many occasions, we would dine together at the evening meal. He was a true gentleman, and was very proud of his family. I love to listen to his story about farming. I had a former father-in-law that was a lifelong farmer as well. They were both truly nice human beings. It was my pleasure to spend time with Phil. My sincere condolences to the family. He was a great person and will be miss”
