He was predeceased by: his parents, Loel Bowman and Pauline Bowman; and his grandparents, Thomas Ford, Beulah Arminda Hays of Lancaster, MO, John Lemont and Floy Gertrude Gray Bowman of Monroe, IA..

He is survived by: his wife Diana "George" Bowman (Cullinan) of Waukee; his children, Dr. Angela "George" Bowman (Sandy "George") of Waukee and David "George" (Sarah "George") of Clive; his grandchildren, William "George", Sean "George", Brendan "George", Henry "George" and Mary Elouise "Girl George" Bowman of Clive; and his siblings, Greg (Sharon) of Ottumwa, Kevin (Debbie) of Plymouth, MN and Sheila Lancaster (Jeff) of Altoona. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
