He was predeceased by: his parents, John Black and Amy Black (Kuhnhenn); and his siblings, John Black, Ed Black, Lois Black and Ruth Kniseley.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Kaschmitter; his children, Beth Norris (Michael), David Black (Diana), Lynn Schloz (Ted), Pam Black, Pat Black (Crystal) and Molly Moeller (Mark); his friends, Bob and LaVon Roberts; and his siblings, Jean Anderson and George Black. He is also survived by six children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sunny View Care Center, Ankeny, Iowa or to the Veteran's Administration in Charles V. Black's honor.
