He was predeceased by: his parents, William Bill and Genevieve Hanken (Coleman); and his significant other Lori Nelson. He is survived by: his daughter Laura Zook (Ryan) of Waterloo; his granddaughters, Haley and Lilia Zook; his siblings, T. J. Hanken (Debby) of Colorado Springs, CO., Ann Champine (Chuck) of Ceylon, MN and Jim Hanken (Kim) of Layton, UT; and his close friend Vicki Brustkern.

Even after Mom moved into an apartment from the house we grew up in she'd call Bill for computer help -- and there'd usually be a 12-pack waiting for him for his trouble. He got the full treatment of Mom's spunkiness and playful wit and enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks Bill. May God hold you in the palm of His hand. - Pat Kinney”
