He was predeceased by: his parents, William Scharnhorst and Emma Winkelman Scharnhorst; and his siblings, Herbert, Laverne, Norma Luhring and Viola Busse.
He is survived by: his children, Gary Scharnhorst (Teresa) of Hudson and Sandy Boss (John) of Waterloo; his grandchildren, Amy Doherty, Cory Scharnhorst (Sarah), Nicole Van Brocklin (Grant), Nick Clough (Sarah), Matt Boss (Emily) and Sarah Boss; and his great grandchildren, Addison Highland, Owyn Scharnhorst, Gavin, Jace Van Brocklin, Braxton, Dakota, Everett Clough and Eliza Boss.
Face coverings and social distancing are required if attending these events.
