He was predeceased by: his parents, John Deutsch and Marie Wampach Deutsch; his sons, Tony Deutsch and Jeff Deutsch; his grandson Jonnie Deutsch; and his siblings, Kathleen Bessel (Al), Theresa May (Marvin), Angie Hesse (Simon) and Richard Deutsch.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Nichols Leer of Waterloo; his children, Vickie Deutsch of Milwaukee, Wisc, Peggy Deutsch-Knutson (Johnette Deutsch) of Cedar Falls, Joe Deutsch (Andrea) of Fairbanks and Rob Deutsch (Rose) of Waterloo; his sister-in-law Phyllis Deutsch of New Prague, Minn.; and his stepchildren, Kelly Leer (Steph) of Ostego, Jeff Leer (Kim) of Fairbank and Jamie Leer of Dacono, Colo.. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren.
