She is survived by: her children, Judith Neumayer (Palatine) of Waterloo, Michael (Bonnie) of Waterloo, Roselle Spooner (Matthew) of Waterloo, Nancy Stirm (Robert) of Waterloo, Gregory, Jr. (Nahada Behric) of Waterloo, Peggy Rust (Larry) of Waterloo and Robert (Terry); her grandchildren, Christine, Julie, Cristina, Bryan, Angela, Andrea, Melissa, Mary, Matthew, Lisa and Valerie; her great grandchildren, Sophie, McKenzie, Anna, Abigail, Jackson, Malia, Brody, Lucas, Bella and Brynlee; and her brother Quentin Henry (Bertha) of Cedar Falls.

“Velma always brightened my day. She had such a great sense of humor especially when we shared moments during garage sales or just a winter visit. Velma was very hospitable when I visited Iowa twice. One was for a cross country meet for my son. Yep, we slept upstairs. The second was for a Hertges Family dinner then sisters’ night. Remember those games and conversations but the laughter was the best. Velma was kind and compassionate. Rest In Peace, Velma.”
