He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond Koester and Marie Koester (Prihoda); his siblings, Michael and Joyce; and his brothers-in-law, Don, Howard and Bill.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Koester; his daughters, Tamra Koester, Jeannie Eakin (Brian), Lorri Stanley (Ralph) and Mary Handberg (Scot); his grandchildren, Bryce, Cassandra, Ashley, Cameron, Kyle, Ciara, Shaina and Winston; his great grandchild Maxwell; his sisters, Mary Hammes, Judy Mauer and Terryl Finbraaten; and his pet Misty. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
