He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Reed and Jeanette Zwiep Reed; his sister Mary Wolfe; his brother-in-law Bob Wolfe; and his close friend Scott Sells.

He is survived by: his former wife Susan D. White; his close friend Joan; his children, Jacob Reed and Kelly Smith of Waterloo; his grandchildren, Jade, Jarren, Jackson, Quincy, Corbin, Kiara, Connor, Kameron and Carson; his great grandchildren, Dasire and I'zavion; his sister Janice Davenport; his niece Jody Spalink; and his great-nephews, Brian and Charles Adams.
