She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence "Larry" Bates and Anona K. Bates (Smith); her husband Danny J. Peters of John's Catholic Church; her great grandchild Alexander; and her siblings, Timothy (Lawrence Jr.) and Sharon Wolf.

She is survived by: her children, Angela Wilken (Michael) of Cedar Falls, Michelle Wright (Joe) of Raymond, Jennifer Ross (Wade) of Dunlap, IL, Danny Peters II of Germantown, WI, Ed Peters of Waterloo and Aimee Irvine (Bryon) of Waterloo; her grandchildren, Joshua (Adrianna), Nicholas, Kayla, Claire, Elijah (Benny), Isaiah, Mason (Amber) and Grant; her great grandchildren, Kaleb, Luke, Olivia and Benson; and her brother Michael Bates (Karen) of Waterloo. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
