She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert and Minnie Lue Shorter Jr. (Steward); and her siblings, Robert Shorter, Jr. and Bessie Slater. She is survived by: her former husband Roosevelt Bell; her daughter Minnie L. Litt of Davenport, IA; and her siblings, Bernice Shorter of Waterloo, Charlotte Shorter of Waterloo, Loudella Brown of Waterloo and Charles Shorter (Queenie) of Cedar Rapids.
