He was predeceased by: his parents, Gary G. Simmerman and Marlene Neelans Simmerman; his father-in-law Bill Smith; and his siblings, Pam Cordes, Tammy and John Meyers.
He is survived by: his wife Shelly Smith of Waterloo; his close friend Rob; his daughter Jessica Simmerman (Matt Whiteman); his grandson Skyler Whiteman; his brother Ken Simmerman (Kristi); his brothers-in-law, Kim Cordes and Larry Smith; and his mother-in-law Evelyn Smith. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
