He was predeceased by: his parent Vyola Hackbarth; and his stepfather Roger Mooney. He is survived by: his former spouse Sandy Westendorf Garland; his sons, Mick Hackbarth (Cindy) of Waterloo and Bob Hackbarth of Iowa Falls; and his grandchildren, MacKenzie, Halley, Lilly, Gabe and Chloe.
