He was predeceased by: his parents, Raymond F. Stearns and Delores Stearns (Gill); his wife Gloria Jean Stearns; his daughter Tena Marie Stearns; his sisters, Pat Wentworth and Beth Marie Stearns; his great grandchildren, Leightyn and Raelynn Fuller; and his daughter-in-law Kay Sherwood.
He is survived by: his children, Kemberly Fogt (Mark) of Grundy Center, Rick Sherwood of Spring Valley, Minnesota and Kevin Stearns (Lisa) of Spring Valley, Minnesota; and his siblings, Delores Mary Ballhagen (Gordon) of New Hartford, Maria Stearns of Evansdale, Danny Stearns (Debbie) of Florida and Rodney Stearns (Diane) of Waterloo. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service West Ridgeway (300 West Ridgeway Ave., Waterloo, IA 50701).
