He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Nielsen and Grace Nielsen (Jungling); and his daughter-in-law Annette Nielsen. He is survived by: his former wife Rebecca Larson; his significant other Dixie Earle of Waterloo; his children, Randy Nielsen (Rachel) of Marshalltown, Lorri Nielsen (Guy Johnson) of Reno, NV and Scott Nielsen (Lisa) of Cedar Rapids; and his stepson Mathew Earle of Cedar Falls. He is also survived by six grandchildren; two step grandchildren; and one great grandchild.
