He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Mealhow, Sr. and Freda Fuehrer (Schlingman); his wife Evelyn; his siblings, Pauline Kessons, Josephine Erickson, Charlotte Mealhow and Louis Mealhow; and his grandchildren, Tasha Graci and Aimee Haes.
He is survived by: his mother-in-law Evelyn Eleanor McDermott Andorf; his brothers, Clayton and Highway; and his children, Gene (Lynn) of Shellsburg, Brett (Brenda) of Parker, Colorado, Michael Andorf (Beverly) of Brandon, Michele Ward (David) of Boise and Janine Ambrose of Waterloo. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
